Today in class we learned about fractions, cursive letter S, and hybrid texts.
We also learned about the way to remember how to write the letter S in cursive. "Up like a jet. Down like a J. Travel away." We had a surprise visit from Ms. Carla. We think she is really fun and funny! Her favorite cursive letter is the letter S! Click here to watch Ms. Carla! In math workshop we learned 5 new stations including technology, perimeter and area, Jenga Division Facts, and Build a Robot. We learned about fact and opinion. We learned that an opinion is something that is someone's perspective. An opinion is something that is not a fact. You don't have to agree with an opinion. It can be argued. It is someone's personal judgement that can be argued. A fact is something that is reliable and trustworthy. It is not fake or made up. A fact can be proven and is true. A fact is a statement of truth. A fact is something that has actually happened. A fact is information. We used the Macmillan School Dictionary to help us figure out the difference between fact and opinion. Reminders:
