Third graders are working hard in room 7. We have been learning and having fun along the way.
We are so lucky as State Representative Kokoruda came to read to us to celebrate Read Across America Day! She read The Polar Bear Who Wouldn't, Couldn't Swim. She taught us about the A, B, C, and D of water safety and gave us a challenge to teach our family and friends the safety rules too! Our Fractions unit has been going well. We have been exploring unit fractions, numerators, denominators, and understanding that the larger the denominator, the small the piece because you are partitioning the same size whole into more pieces. Out next math unit focusing on measurement starts next Wednesday! We will begin to explore linear measurement, liquid capacity, and mass/weight. Thank you for signing up for a conference time. I am excited to meet with each of you to discuss your child's progress and set goals for our final marking term of third grade.
